It was a teary affair...

It was not easy making the decision, but I did what I had to do. Though I leave the board, these people will stay under my wing.

Love them all so much.

Reading this card made the tears flow, flow and flow (click to enlarge).

2010 Resolutions

Speaking of resolutions, I shall propose some for Year 2010! Not very creative, but here goes.

Resolution 1: I will get in touch with my hobbies - piano, diving, erm... and whatever ambitious undertakings lx has got on the pipeline.

Resolution 2: I will read and read and read.

Resolution 3: I will be prudent.

Resolution 4: I will maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Resolution 5: *secret*

End-Year Review of my 2009 Resolutions

2009 has come to a close. Fuck 2009, it wasn't the best year. It's time for resolutions again. Even if these resolutions have not been achieved completely, I believe it's important to live a goal-oriented life. Without further ado, allow me to review how successful I have been in keeping to my 2009 resolutions. This is a postscript to my earlier post on Mid-Year Review of my Resolutions.

Resolution 1: I will read the newspapers daily.

End-Year Review: The wonders of Google have aided me in attaining this resolution. I now use Google Reader on a daily basis, subscribing to casino news (for work), channelnewsasia, TED, Springwise, Marketwatch, The Economist. I try to read them on a daily basis. Otherwise I befriend well-informed friends who regularly give me the scoop on the latest happenings around town.

Resolution 2: I will read the stash of recently-purchased-but-unread books that have been piling up.

End-Year Review: Still dismal in my opinion. Completed The Unbearable Lightness of Being and The Tipping Point (amongst other half-read books). Reading Lolita now. I have come to realize that the inherent problem lies in my SLOW reading speed. And sometimes, my utter impatience.

Resolution 3: I will only be on the lookout for Mr Right, and strike Mr Right-Now off the radar.

End-Year Review: Will need time to assess if my bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

Resolution 4: I will keep a tight reign on my finances, giving due diligence to my inflow vs. outflow, and start engaging my broker.

End-Year Review: I feel so zen about money these days. Money for me seems to be re-invested to the travel industry these days. The returns are intangible.

Resolution 5: I will lead a more healthy lifestyle - club/drink/smoke a lot less, exercise regularly and eat more greens.

End-Year Review: I gym at FF pretty regularly these days! Love the pool too. I live a significantly healthier lifestyle - club / drink / smoke so much less. And with lx up my alley, how not to eat and live healthy?

Resolution 6: I will stop cabbing to work.

End-Year Review: ABSOLUTELY NO PROGRESS.
